Biography
Josée Duchesne has been a full professor of applied mineralogy in the Department of Geology and Geological Engineering at Université Laval since 1995. She is a member of the Centre de recherche sur les infrastructures en béton (CRIB). D. in 1993 for research on concrete durability and an NSERC postdoctoral fellowship in geochemistry of cementitious materials at the University of Waterloo. Her research interests focus mainly on concrete durability and innovative ways to improve the environmental performance of concrete through the use of industrial wastes or non-traditional SCMs. She is also interested in carbon sequestration, the durability of alkali-activated materials and the problems associated with iron sulfide oxidation in concrete aggregates.
